Since 2020, persons adopted from Brazil can request assistance via the Brazilian Ministry of Justice.
Since late 2019, we do not offer Family Tracing Assistance anymore; this page will be updated later.
This section is dedicated to Brazilians holding foreign nationality in search of their original families in Brazil.
To establish whether you are a possible BBA adoptee, we ask you to go through our checklist. Please read the checklist carefully and contact us in case of any doubts. To efficiently provide assistance, we ask you to send us an email with the topic ‘checklist’ in which you give us your responses to the checklist.
If the outcome of the checklist indicates that you are not a possible Brazil Baby Affair adoptee, we will refer you to the Central Authority in Brazil and in the home country of your adoptive parents.
If the outcome of the checklist indicates that you are not a possible Brazil Baby Affair adoptee, but you have exhausted all other existing tracing resources, the NGO could possibly provide assistance in your family tracing case. In this situation, you should send us an email with the topic ‘tracing assistance’ for further explanation and details about possible future proceedings.
If the outcome of the checklist indicates that you are indeed a possible Brazil Baby Affair adoptee, you most definitely have a false birth certificate. You might not be aware of this, but we can help you establish if this is the case or not.
In this situation we will offer a four-step solution guide for tracing your original family in Brazil. To enroll in the tracing process send us an email with the topic ‘checklist’ in which you give us your feedback on the checklist and we will take it from there.
We will handle all tracing requests with the utmost discretion.
